OLDER AMERICANS ACT GRANTS OVERSIGHT 

Through funding received from the federal Older Americans Act, as well as state funding, the Agency on Aging of South Central Connecticut annually awards grants and contracts to community agencies that provide a wide array of services, such as home-delivered meals, homemaking, transportation and legal services, to older adults. 

Who is eligible for Older Americans Act-funded programs?

  •  anyone age 60 or older
  •  with an emphasis on those whose income falls at or below the poverty level and those who have faced barriers to service

What is the cost for services?

  • Services through Older Americans Act-funded programs are provided free of charge. Individuals who are able may make voluntary contributions to the programs that serve them.
